Thruster flame colour selectable from thruster terminal page
Add the ability to set the thruster flame colour from the terminal page. I remember seeing a pull request for something that sounded just like this, but it would be great to not have to add a bunch of mods just to have a different flame colour. An RGB slider would be great, but even if it were a drop-down menu with a few common colours would be great!

Fire is yellow, except when it's blue. This is a no, this just won't do. Hydrogen thrusters spewing green fire really shouldn't be vanilla. No.

In real life there are substances that change the color of the flame during the chemical reaction of combustion. What prevents to imagine that the color of the flame is changing these additives to the substance of combustion?

Techincally due to "ion" engines not consuming fuel they are light bulb engines / light propulsion so they shouldnt even burn blocks and in this case changing color is a possibility but then Actual ions must be implemented

I use colors in mods to show what tier the thrusters are. just for a bit of sci-fi it'd be nice to change them for more personalization on your ship.

Please help support my "Furniture and Greenhouse" idea. It really is a good idea, if I say so myself. Personally, I think the game has overlooked a vital part of ship building. We have no furniture, like beds and desks or no bathroom items, like sinks, toilets and showers. Anyway, there's more to my idea, I would appreciate any votes. Thank you.

I agree that would be awesome.

no plz plz plz no this is not realistic at all thats why mods are mods just work with it. this idea is not worth being implemented

Been really looking forward to something like this. It could even be expanded into different chemical compositions for fuels (thrust vs Isp). Any colour is possible with the enormous range of possible emission spectra as well as blackbody spectra, so It doesn't seem unrealistic to me.

Hmm, realism you say?? Like building an entire ship and putting all the thrusters to one side but the ship still move forward with no rotation torque!! More realism.. A human that can carry 100's if not 1000's of plates, motors all in 1 backpack that is the size of a pillow. More realism.. A world without ladders! A world where I put a light switch on my wall but can no longer put any other item in its vicinity and have to move 2.5M away before I can place something else (yes a reference to compound blocks being needed!). Anyway, if it suits, how about an option that is settable in world settings (so it can be controlled on hosted or server worlds), that disables (can even be off by default) coloured thrusters, thus enforcing boring 1 colour thruster mode? Or, even allow a way to make my suggestion possible via a mod.

yah well that is games things you need stuff liek that in a game for it to work but this this we have a mod already for and also having so manny coulours will cause lagg so no
Kikassou 27/11/17 01:31
Alright going to have to stop you right there Toilet. First there is no mod to change the thruster colour via slider in the terminal, if you know where one is a link would be great. Secondly there will be no performance hit whatsoever in fact the system is already in the game for lights, spotlights and in a more vague sense armour painting.
