Have target neutrals be default set to "off" for all turrets when built.
It is a daily occurrence on the DS servers that I play on that someone's turrets will blow up someone else's stuff when no one wanted this to happen. It is caused by "target neutrals" being default set to "on" in all created turrets.
People's stuff gets shot for several reasons though:
1. People often design in creative, where spawned blocks are often *owned* by neutral to start with. When a blueprint of this creative ship is built in a survival setting, that ownership gets reproduced in the survival game, and the blocks get shot.
2. Often some things *need* to be neutral, so that anyone can spawn at it or use it; things like trade station cargo containers, or neutral medbays. Guess what, everyone's guns will shoot them every time.
3. Salvaging neutral things is more difficult when your turrets will automatically shoot stuff.
4. Some mods (nanite factory in particular) often resets ownership to nobody, causing within-faction bloodbaths for anyone who uses this mod.
Unfortunately, as far as I know, there is no mod on the workshop that resets this default turret setting, so players must just suffer through this every time. In fact, it is often the first or second thing to do on a ship - reset turret priorities.
Target neutrals is an important choice to be able to choose, but as far as I know it is the wrong default setting.
