Dungeons and Caverns
Add a system that spawns caves and caverns underground with rare resources, as well as derelict subsurface tunnels with special loot hidden at their base. One thing with dungeons, to preclude players from just grinding their way through the dungeon, have some kind of "Spherical Scenario Inhibitor" that disables certain tools from being used to cheat the dungeon. The completion of the dungeon will result when you get to the core of the dungeon and shut of the beacon for the ruin/dungeon.
