Combat update
Hello, I have played this game for quite a long time and I'm really impressed by the determination and love the developers and community show this game. I wanted to help "improving" this game too and thought about something that could be better. The obvious things like MP-desync and SIM-Speed are already in work, improved greatly, and I'm sure they will continue to do so in the future. But an important thing for me in multiplayer was often the combat. And I think that's where SpaceEngineers has to improve too. While it's possible to have a battle between smaller ships, things get dicey if you have a battleship fight. More often than not the SIM-Speed will drop down to a slide show which can be handled by improving the weapons. because in SpaceEngineers a competitive battleship looks like a turret hedgehog. too many bullets to many rockets. A simple solution would be big Battleship canons. That would reduce the amount of independent Guns tremendously. the distance, there are able to fire, will increase and movement will become more important. plus because they will have a greater reloading time less bullets are fired which means less calculation. also the damage should be rebalanced. -Hand held weapons should not be able to damage armor blocks and reinforced blocks (like Cargo container) -Small gatling guns/turrets should not be able to damage reinforced blocks and heavy armor. (maybe even normal armor) -large turrets should not be able to penetrate heavy armor easely. smaller ideas: -armor penetrating rounds (like Uran-tips) -command blocks which will controll the turret. they can be programmt to focus/ignore targets or use the right kind of munition. These are my ideas for the game and I hope they are not to unreasonable. please keep up the good work and thank you for reading.
