Camera Access through LCD's
Allow the ability to link an LCD to a remote camera. Target the LCD and press "V" to view the camera "T" to escape, similar to how this works within a cockpit. Targeting would be handled within the LCD options. When not viewing a camera the LCD would work as normal and display text or images.

why do you want to show text and images within LCD who has camera assigned? What is use-case for it? I could find lots of use from LCDs which show camera view without even activating it. Otherwise I do not really get what is benefit of suggestion over putting a button to press when you want to get into camera..

This was theme of a mod which ceased to function about eleven months ago. 'Live feed for camera' : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=611332581 It was part of the installation to implement a foreign dll into the installation files and to change the starting parameters. After mod became unusuable, it prevented my game from starting at all (all worlds corrupted). Had to fix this with assistance by KEEN trouble shooting. So we would just have to pick up that concept this modder had and make it implemented in vanilla, with an updated dll in working order. Sounds easy, and is very rewarding to have your camera feed on LCDs. Would have started this idea here myself if I had'nt found yours. Gets my vote now.

Krienas: it adds much to atmosphere if you can walk in your builds and actually use your LCDs on the walls with video from your cameras. And in multiplayer, anyone can watch them, not only the one with access to station control.

@Cetric I am totally for what you are saying, just OPs suggestion was different, that is why I had questions.

I get your point Krienas, my idea though maybe not worded correct was more inline with what Cetric has outlined. I looked at the mod that he has highlighted and was unwilling to pursue because of the very reason he wrote about. I was thinking that if we were not able to have a "live feed" displayed on the LCD continuously then perhaps we could call up a camera view by clicking on the interface as opposed to having to use the control panel. Use case, LCD on a ship bridge that is connected to a main hatch camera. Instead of having to go into the control panel, find the camera and click view, or moving to a button panel and click a button, you could just click on the LCD screen to view a predetermined camera. Thanks for the feedback.

<< Instead of having to go into the control panel, find the camera and click view, or moving to a button panel and click a button, you could just click on the LCD screen to view a predetermined camera.>> As far as I recall, the defunct mod I mentioned was *permanently* showing an assigned camera picture on a monitor, you did not have to click on the screen for watching. Now isn't that marvellous? You come into a control room and you see all your LCDs constantly showing transmissions simultaneously, you don't have to click through them... That's what I want to see in vanilla.

I couldn't agree more Cetric, that would be ideal and ultimately what I would like to see in Vanilla as well. My suggestion was geared toward something that might not impact performance, and more or less use mechanics that were already built into the game. But again, if there was a way to stream video onto the LCD without clicking anything - "Mind Blowing" awesome!
